On the floor, constructed in the dark, away from the glow, the light, spilling in from the next room, face lit half moon, semi-bright and a mystery pinning an unread letter to the flesh with a single, ghost needle- there the body goes deep, covered with rocks and weeds and the swarm of sex, a naked rose studied and studying one soul in a room, on the floor, invisible, scratched ...

Fire Script
During the heavy months my life caught fire only when     I made love with you. The firefly too lights up and goes out, lights up and goes out     —by quick glimpses we follow its route among the olive trees in the darkness of night. During the heavy months the soul sat     indolent and crushed, but the body took the nearest way to you.     The night heavens gave off moos. We stole milk from the...

I’m home! After breaking my ankle last week and returning to the fracture clinic on Tues, I was called for an urgent CT scan of my foot Wed am.  That would have been enough.  My right foot incapacitated meant no driving.  Pain could be managed.  And a little more risky during the winter months etc. Wed am I took a cab to the hospital and had the CT.  I could barely get from here to there...

Looks like it's going to be
dirkashlyknoedler: a really cold quiet night in by myself. Questions, comments, anything welcome in my inbox. I’m thinking about where to go to be near mountains. Suggestions? If you’re thinking about going somewhere, where do you want to go? This is a perfect question and the perfect reason to be diverted from work, which I seemed to have let swallow me whole of late.  It will temporarily...

Well…today was fun. 11 hours in the ER, xrays, drugs, crutches, fractured ankle.  No. The dark will have no part of me…tonight I’m sleeping with the light on.

thewayoftheworld: I like it here even though I’m surrounded only by rivers like the Ohio and Monongahela not the vast lakes expanses to which my eyes are used Huron Michigan Superior even St.Clair where I watched a Beetle sink through thin ice I don’t miss idiots who think they can drive their lightweight German car on frozen water in early January I don’t know the plains or...

One dream, I would go to all the dead with photographs in search of me. Cut my hair in seclusion for them and take the circle around the room with a candle and no church, the pair of them in my pocket. I would trade.  To be found a good bargain.

When you were here I was missing, and the lie said you were dead, but you were only an absent wave, here but an hour ago, when I was peaceful, weak and late.

Ecstasy by Hayden Carruth For years it was in sex and I thought this was the most of it           so brief                 a moment or two of transport out of oneself                 or in music which lasted longer and filled me with the exquisite wrenching agony of the blues        and now it is equally transitory and obscure as I sit in my broken chair that the cats have shredded by the stove...
